Justin McKee t/a MJ Music Studios has adopted the following practice in response to the coronavirus: All piano lessons will now be delivered live online via FaceTime, Skype or WhatsApp. All parents and students have been emailed information to access this service.

Prior to this announcement, the following measures were adopted in response to the coronavirus:
In the event that a student is sick, their lessons will be cancelled and arrangements will be made to make these lessons up at a later date.
Maintain a business model of one-on-one, private piano teaching only.
Each student is required to wash or sanitise their hands before commencing their lesson.
The regularity of cleaning and disinfection of surfaces must accord with the 'Environmental cleaning and disinfection principles for COVID-19' published by the Australian Government Department of Health. For example, the frequency of cleaning the piano keys (a high-touch surface) will occur once between each lesson.
There is to be no handshaking between the teacher and students or parents.
No more than four people will be allowed in the 19.5 square metre teaching space as per the Public Health (COVID-19 Gatherings) Order (the 100 person indoor rule).
A healthy distance of 1.5 metres will be maintained between individuals (the 4 square metre rule).
If the teacher has to play the piano during a lesson, they will restrict this to an area where the student will not be playing.
Students should bring along their own pencil and eraser for use during their lesson. When a student must handle a pencil that I supply, this is placed into a container for cleaning afterwards; the same practice adopted by Service NSW.
Measures will be altered in response to relevant information coming forward from the Australian Government's Department of Health and NSW Health. The changes will be communicated to parents and students by email.
Justin has chosen to limit movement within the community to those short journeys we all require for obtaining essential goods and services.
Thank you to parents and students for their ongoing cooperation and assistance.
